Four simple tricks to have your feet looking & feeling fabulous.
Spring is almost here and Summer ain’t far off, so it’s a smart time to start getting your feet prepared for their moment in the sun.
The key to combating calloused heels, is preventing them to begin with. By following these few simple steps, you’ll be assured smooth feet this season.
Scrub-a-dub-dub
Daily use of a natural fibre brush like our Eco Max coconut fibre Foot Brush, when in the shower is the easiest way to be get smooth feet. Be sure to concentrate around the edge of the heel and balls of feet, using firm pressure to gently rub away hard skin and dead cells.
Slather your soles
Afterwards, slather your feet in a rich moisturising cream or better still use coconut oil before putting on some bed socks to soften the skin overnight.
Trim and terrific
Be sure to keep your toenails trimmed and filed, but definitely avoid cutting them too short or downwards at the corners as this is an invitation to get nasty ingrown toenails. It is also really important to give your nails time to breathe, especially if you like wearing dark polishes, as this can cause discolouration. To avoid this take a break from using nail polish for up to 5 days, every month or so.
Protect and perfect
Finally, please don’t forget your feet when being sun safe. It’s not just the skin on your feet and toes need protection, your nails are made of protein and are just as vulnerable to sun damage. So make sure you use sunscreen all over your feet.
